OpenABA

OpenABA is a telehealth webapp for Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), providing social therapy for those diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). ABA is the standard practice for socializing children with ASD, but it has historically lacked a functional telehealth solution, a problem hugely exacerbated by the Covid-19 Quarantine era.

ABA operates primarily on a flashcard-like system paired with gamified reinforcement strategies that supplement the socialization therapy. The OpenABA therapy session interface organizes all the necessary materials for learning and reinforcement in one place, combined with video chat and secure data storage, making it a solution that not only mitigates the struggles of social distancing but also has potential to support ABA beyond the end of quarantine.

Automated Report Generation

Maintaining a strong correspondence with the rapidly growing user base, I found that one of the most in-demand features was a data dashboard for practitioners to conveniently track the progress of their clients.

The dashboard responsively factors in new responses and has a degree of customizability for practitioners to make personalized notes and scores for their clients.

About OpenABA

To demonstrate the capabilities of OpenABA to new adopters, I prepared a video that walks through why OpenABA exists and how to run a session. I was responsible for writing the script, delegating footage acquisition, and editing it all together into a mission summary that was useful both for onboarding users and submitting to hackathons.
